Dr Valentina Costantini holds a PhD in Medieval History from the University of Siena (2013). She has carried out research and teaching activities at the University of Siena, Siena State Archives, Universidad de la República (Montevideo) and University of Leeds. She has also collaborated with the Instituto de Cultura Italiana in Montevideo and Leeds Museums & Galleries for the UK Year of Culture “Leeds 2023”. Her research interests focus on social and urban late medieval history, particularly on crafts, gender and urban revolts in European perspective. She is currently working on a paper on women, work and guilds organizations in medieval Italy; and is researching the reuse and circulation of second-hand textiles in medieval Florentine Tuscany.
